The factory at Platt Mill has undergone 10 years of substantial investment resulting in continual improvement. Whilst externally the factory blends well into its tranquil, rural setting, internally the facility is state of the art. Machinery and processes have been brought right up-to date, which is verified by the accreditations awarded to Dairi-Pak namely - BRC/IoP Global Hygiene Standard for Packaging, National Packaging Council Five Star Accreditation, Investors In People Award and the adoption of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Flexibility and the ability to manufacture large, small and unusual boxes in any volume is still the cornerstone of Dairi-Pak’s success. Typical sheet plant equipment such as Slitter/Scorers, Slotters, Roller presses, Platen presses, manual and semi automatic gluers are well maintained and still see regular use.

Flexibility is often at the expense of machine efficiency, however, this is not the case at Dairi-Pak. In first quarter of 2006 Dairi-Pak underwent a manufacturing metamorphosis. Two new automatic case-makers were commissioned along with an automated material handling system. Each case line has the ability to manufacture 2 colour cases at speeds of between 6000 and 14000 an hour. The ability to manufacture cases at speed, with clear print definition and slot accuracy ensures Dairi-Pak can maintain very short lead times and very competitive prices. This paradigm shift from industrial batch production to Lean Manufacturing in a visual workplace has resulted in Dairi-Pak being one of the most efficient and productive manufacturing units in any sheet plant in the UK.

In 2009 substantial investment saw the commissioning of a new Bendazzoli Printer/Slotter with Rotary Die Cutter. In July 2009 this investment culminated in the installation of a Maramatsu automatic flat bed diecutter emphasizing Dairi-Pak’s commitment to manufacturing low cost retail ready packaging.

Dairi-Pak’s design department utilises the very latest in CAD/CAM technology for design and sample making. The KASEMAKE Packaging Design system enables a quick response to enquiries of any nature, either from a standard library or as a unique design. Using the industry standard in design software allows Dairi-Pak to respond with efficiency and accuracy.

As part of the KASEMAKE design service, Dairi-Pak Ltd provides customers with virtual sales aids, presenting design development in various formats including 2D structural drawings, high-resolutions 3D images, 3D animated video media, high-resolution images and many other formats to suit the design solution or customer requirement.
