The Dairi-Pak Mountain Bike Challenge - 11th May 2019
This annual event raises money for the Air Ambulance. We're based in a rural community that relies on this service so it seems appropriate that the community comes together each year to raise funds for this vital service.
For some it's a personal challenge to complete the 22 miles, some come to beat their personal best time from previous years and others ride with family and friends for a fun day out.
It's a great way to get out and ride bits of the countryside that you wouldn't usually have access too. I've completed the challenge twice and as a result, recommend you prepare for all weathers. I had bright sunshine, rain, wind and sleet all in the same ride one year! Sarah Glover
The main route for the Dairi-Pak Mountain Bike Challenge is a 22 mile course mainly on off-road tracks with some challenging terrain if you choose to ride it all.
The event couldn't take place without the co-operation of the fantastic landowners. The special access sees riders pass through some beautiful scenery in the Berwyn Mountains.
There is also a six mile family friendly ride through the countryside around Rhiwlas.
There are 30 marshall points along the route, including water stations and there is a complementary buffet lunch at the Rhiwlas Village Hall on your return.
There isn't a formal entry fee but we ask that riders collect sponsorship or make a donation of at least £30 to ride the challenge.
Visit the Borderland Rotary Club's website to register your entry and download a sponsorship form.
We hope to see you there!
