MP for North Shropshire visits Dairi-Pak Ltd
Staff at Dairi-Pak Ltd were treated to a visit from their local MP last week. Mr Paterson had been invited by owner Tim Gray to have a factory tour and meet staff and at the Ruyton based box manufacturer.
“It is critical for the local and national economy that MP’s are kept informed of matters effecting manufacturing companies within their constituency” explains Mr Gray.”We had a very frank discussion about the economic recovery and what part box makers play in supporting British manufacturing.”
The Ruyton based box maker employs 44 people and is the largest employer in the village. It is hoped that the visit will highlight the importance of local manufacturing companies and Westminster’s role in ensuring that these companies get support in terms of accessibility to funding and grants; whilst ensuring that new legislation is relevant and minimises the red tape and bureaucracy that is becoming more prevalent within business.
Owen Paterson said “ I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Dairi-Pak again and was delighted to see that the business has gone from strength to strength since my last visit. They now employ 44 staff and provide an environmentally friendly product made from 76% recycled material, mostly sold locally.”
